Look and Feel Young with Juvederm

Certainly there are things that all of us miss, not being younger. When it comes to a woman’s looks, your dew-like skin – your youthhood pride that everyone jealously acknowledged once – begins to show aging signs as years roll by.

Thanks to pioneering aesthetic medical practices, Juvederm comes to your rescue. It is the best non-surgical method available to date for correction of facial wrinkles and folds.

What is Juvederm?

Juvederm is a cosmetic dermal gel made from hyaluronic acid found naturally in your body. It replaces lost volume and restores youthfulness to the skin by smoothening out moderate- to-severe facial wrinkles, nasolabial folds (lines from the nose to the corners of the mouth) and marionette lines around the mouth. It may also be used to even out frown lines on the forehead and to augment cheekbones, chin and bridge of the nose.

How it works?

The procedure is simple and quick and causes no major discomfort. Your doctor may use a mild topical anesthetic, if necessary. Using a superfine needle, the doctor will inject the filler into your skin in tiny amounts. It gets absorbed gradually based on how quick your body metabolizes.

A single treatment session lasts approximately 20 minutes. You may see the results right away, although there may be mild reactions for the first few days.

Before going in for the aesthetic correction, talk to your doctor about health concerns/allergies, and share details of medication if you are taking any. Some medicines like fish oil supplements, vitamin E and aspirin might interfere with the healing process.

The magic after

You may be surprised by the ‘I-look-better’ effect within a day or two. The filler effect usually lasts from nine months to one year. You may have to touch up with additional fillers after six months, especially for those spots that have more movement.

Cosmetic side effects

Expect to face some mild reactions such as redness, swelling, pain or discoloration on the injection spot. This usually lasts for two to ten days. Keep cool: there is no reason for alarm if you carefully follow the advice of your doctor.

Aftercare

Do not overexpose yourself to heat and sunlight so as not to aggravate bruising at the injection spot. Avoid flexing your facial muscles in the area of treatment. For the first 24 hours after treatment, it is best to avoid sudden movements in the treated area.

Healing time differs from person to person. Recovery is easier with Juvederm for most of the patients, although some may experience severe bruising. You may however be certain that the correctional effects are there to stay even if the healing takes a little longer than others do.

Check with the doctor on when to apply makeup after the procedure. You stay in the safe zone as long as you rigorously follow your doctor’s guidance.

Home remedies to ease off mild bruising

  • Place a cooled tea bag to help the bruise heal faster.
  • Soak a cloth with white vinegar and place it on the bump.
  • Include leafy green vegetables days before treatment for a good supply of vitamin E that makes you resistant to bruising.
  • Keep on the swollen spot a cloth soaked with distilled witch hazel.
  • Not to forget the good old standby, use an ice pack. Use extra ice packs, if bruising persists.
