Skin treatment using LASER is nothing new. LASER has been
used in the treatment of acne, wrinkles, scars and other skin imperfections.
But like everything else LASER treatment has evolved with time. Thanks to the
continuous research into the uses of LASER, skin treatment using LASER has
become more refined, leading to better results and lesser recuperation time. They
are also less invasive allowing the clients a much better and nearly pain free
experience.
Optimas by Inmode is one such new offering which uses a
single workstation for a variety of procedures like remodelling and contouring
face and body, hair removal and treatment of spots and lesions. By making the
device lightweight and thus easier for the physician to handle, it indirectly
benefits its goal of a better patient experience.
Skin related LASER treatment offered by the Optimas suite
includes MORPHEUS 8 and LUMECCA.
The MORPHEUS 8 is a Subdermal Adipose Remodelling Device
(SARD). It works on the adipose (fat) tissue located under the skin. By doing
so it remodels the fat under the skin and contours the face. The result is that
the face looks younger and smoother.
How is the MORPHEUS 8 more effective when compared to other
similar procedures?
The MORPHEUS advantage lies in the fact that its RF energy
reaches the subdermal tissue whereas other procedures only concentrate on the
superficial layers of the skin. Hence in these cases, surgery maybe recommended
to reach the subdermal tissue. The MORPHUES 8 circumvents the question of
surgery altogether. It is also considered extremely safe for all skin types.
Post inflammatory hyerpigmentation is nearly absent; something which other
methods can’t lay a claim to.
LUMECCA treats skin pigmentation using Intense Pulse Light
(IPL) technology. It can be used to tackle age spots, sun damage, freckles,
redness due to sun exposure and other skin irregularities. The IPL technology
works by focussing light of 500-600 nm on the skin. This light leaves the top
layer of the skin intact and targets the pigments on the second layer of the
skin. The pigment is destroyed by the heat from the light beam thus clearing up
pigmentation.
Using LUMECCA, the areas which are exposed to sun can be
treated successfully. This includes face, neck, arms and legs. After treatment,
redness of skin and a warm feeling can be expected. This is normal and will
subside within a couple of hours. A week after treatment, skin lesions fall off
leaving the skin even and smooth.
How is LUMECCA different from other similar procedures?
